Psychological groups
A group is in fact a great resource. It is impossible to give an answer to a question whether it is better to take individual therapy or attend psychological groups. It is just like choosing between a better fruit: an apple or an orange. Both individual and group work have their advantages.
Here are some benefits of group work:
– a group is like a mirror instantly mirroring you back what is happening to you, how you are acting and how you are expressing yourself
- a group is an opportunity to get group support and compassion
- a group brings about a feeling of unity and belonging
- I’m not alone and I can be with someone else
- a group helps you feeling you are not alone and your problems are not unique. Very different people can face same problem issues.
- a group is a small model of the society.
All communicative and role conflicts can be easily recognised and solved there. Group work is an exciting and a very efficient way of psychological work.
